Ryan & Monique

Pure fun.  Nothing else could describe the couple or their day.  We had a lot of fun shooting this outdoor Minnesota wedding.  Take a gorgeous couple, add two of the cutest kids around, paint a picture perfect day, add lots of family and friends having a great time, and you have what was Ryan & Monique’s wedding.

Mike & Becky

Weddings are always a lot of fun.  Sometimes it’s the ceremony that’s the fun.  Sometimes it’s the in-between stuff.  Sometimes it’s the reception.  Sometimes it’s the people.  With Mike and Becky, it was definitely the people.  Well, that and the reception, but mainly the people.  Their wedding was outdoors on a beautiful Minnesota summer day.  They were married in the backyard of the family house.  After the ceremony, they rode off on a (borrowed) Harley Davidson motorcycle.  It made for some great pictures.  But, by far, the real fun was at the reception where everyone, including little Gavin, had a blast, dancing and celebrating the start of Mike & Becky’s lives as husband and wife.

Dave & Marcia

When you get married on a boat, you are really trusting that several key pieces of your day will come together as expected.  First off, that the weather will cooperate.  On an open deck boat, rain or rough weather is not really conducive to a “good hair day”.  Second, that the body of water that you’re getting married on will be calm, even if the weather isn’t.  Lake Superior is not a body of water to take lightly.  If anyone ever needs to know just how bad it can get, look up the Edmund Fitzgerald.  Third, that everyone you invite will get along, or at least play nice while out to sea.  Being in a confined space, it’s hard to seperate people without having to yell “man overboard!”.  And last, but not least, that God above will bless your day by providing some sort of sign to indicate his presence.  Like a sunset that only He could provide.

Dave & Marcia had such a day on Lake Superior, on the Vista Queen that launched out of Superior, Wisconsin.  All joking aside, this was a STUNNINGLY beautiful day.  If you could actually order weather like you do food at a restaraunt, you couldn’t have come up with a more beautiful day.  Bright sun, warm temperatures, calm water, and a picture perfect sunset.  They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful outdoor wedding.

Tiera

Tiera was the first senior we had the opportunity to work with.  Tiera has dreams of being a model, and after working with her, I believe she could probably do quite well with it.

Tiera was fun to work with and had a great sense of humor.  She has a natural, genuine smile, and really helped us get into senior portraits.

Mike & Paula

On a beautiful June day, Mike and Paula celebrated the first day of the rest of their lives.  They were married in one state and had their reception in another!  Ok, so the two cities are just across the river from each other, but it’s still fun to say.

The wedding took place in a turn of the century church in Somerset, Wisconsin, which had no electricity and where the only windows were stained glass windows that didn’t open more than a few inches.  The only light in the church was provided by candle chandeliers.  Their day was smooth, everyone had a great time, and they had a very unique cake.

Their reception, and the outdoor photographs, were done in Stillwater, Minnesota, at the old historic Water Street Inn.  It’s a beautiful old style building, with a gazebo overlooking the St. Croix river.  It truly makes for some beautiful images.

At the reception, everyone loves to watch the couples first dance.  Except maybe those that get wrapped up in their own dance…In the end, the writing was on the wall…  er, sidewalk….
